In the rubber industry, there are a variety of vulcanization methods, among which, cold vulcanization and hot vulcanization are the first two types. Cold vulcanization is to add an overspeed accelerator to the rubber compound to enable it to undergo vulcanization reaction at room temperature, or to immerse it in sulfur chloride solution to undergo vulcanization reaction at room temperature.
Microwave rubber vulcanization equipment is a special microwave equipment. Rubber vulcanization is an important process in the manufacture of rubber bonded abrasives, as well as the latter process that determines the performance of parts. The purpose of vulcanization is to fix the shape of the parts and turn them into abrasives with certain physical and mechanical properties.
Most rubber products adopt the thermal vulcanization method, that is, they need to be heated for vulcanization reaction. The green body of rubber abrasive tools uses general raw rubber such as natural rubber and styrene butadiene rubber, and a large amount of sulfur is used as the curing agent, so the hot vulcanization method is more necessary. Under the heating condition, the raw rubber in the binder reacts with the curing agent to make the rubber cross-linked from linear macromolecules to network or body macromolecules, resulting in significant improvement of the physical and mechanical properties and other properties of the parts. This process is called vulcanization.
In the conventional heating vulcanization process, heat is transferred from the surface to the inside by relying on the thermal conductivity of the rubber compound. Because the thermal conductivity of rubber is very poor, it takes a long time to make the whole product reach the vulcanization temperature, and it is easy to form a temperature gradient that causes uneven vulcanization. With microwave curing equipment, the rubber material directly absorbs microwave energy and heats both inside and outside. The overall time for the product to reach the curing temperature is very short (about one tenth to one hundredth of the conventional temperature), and there is no temperature gradient on the surface and inside, so the vulcanization is rapid and uniform.
